Universitas Bung Hatta Signs Strategic MoU with West Sumatra Provincial Government and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah
The Rector of Universitas Bung Hatta, Prof. Diana Kartika, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the West Sumatra Provincial Government and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) at the Governor’s Office on January 29, 2026.
The agreement was signed alongside six other private university rectors and Governor Mahyeldi Ansharullah, S.P., M.M. This collaboration strengthens institutional partnerships to support regional development initiatives.
In his remarks, the Governor expressed appreciation for the large-scale collaboration between the Provincial Government, TMII, and seven leading private universities in West Sumatra. He emphasized that synergy among higher education institutions will accelerate innovation and produce competitive human resources. According to him, collaboration is key to driving people-centered economic growth in the province.
The MoU focuses on strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of higher education, including education, research, and community service. It also promotes cultural development and knowledge exchange through strategic engagement with TMII. The partnership is expected to create sustainable programs that directly benefit local communities.
This initiative contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through academic collaboration and institutional synergy, the program aims to enhance regional competitiveness and inclusive development. The agreement highlights the role of higher education as a catalyst for sustainable economic transformation.
With this signing, Universitas Bung Hatta reaffirms its commitment to impactful collaboration and regional advancement. The university continues to position itself as an active partner in strengthening innovation ecosystems and empowering communities.
