Universitas Bung Hatta Delivers Disaster Relief Directly to Salareh Aia Village, Agam

Universitas Bung Hatta directly delivered humanitarian aid to Salareh Aia Village, Palembayan Subdistrict, Agam Regency, as part of its commitment to supporting communities affected by disaster. The mission was led by Vice Rector III of Universitas Bung Hatta, Dr. Zulherman, S.T., M.Sc., accompanied by the Student Body President and a student volunteer trauma healing team.

The dispatch of the relief team took place at the parking area of the UBH Rectorate Building, Campus I in Ulak Karang, on December 3, 2025. This initiative also reflects the university’s contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

The collected aid came from the academic community and various donors, and was delivered to the affected area based on a needs assessment conducted by the Mapala Proklamator Team, which had conducted field surveys following the disaster.

The assistance included food supplies, clothing, shelter materials, bottled water, LPG gas, medicines, tents, and other essential items. All relief packages were distributed through designated posts to ensure that assistance reached those most in need effectively and equitably.

Through this humanitarian action, Universitas Bung Hatta reaffirmed its dedication to social solidarity, campus-based disaster response, and multi-stakeholder collaboration in supporting disaster recovery efforts across West Sumatra.
