Universitas Bung Hatta Lecturer Officiates International Finswimming Championships

Dr. Meiriani Armen, S.Pd., M.Pd., AIFO-P, C.Hydro.T, CISTI, a lecturer in the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation (PJKR) Study Program at Universitas Bung Hatta, was appointed as a referee at the CMAS Southeast Asia Championship Finswimming Indoor 2025 and the Asian Junior Finswimming Competition – South East Zone, held at the Gelora Bung Karno Aquatic Stadium, Jakarta, from 16–19 November 2025.

Her involvement in the prestigious international events also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through professional capacity building in higher education, and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through the promotion of competitive sports and healthy lifestyles.

The appointment reflects recognition of her expertise, certifications, and professional credibility in aquatic sports and diving disciplines.

Expressing her pride, Dr. Meiriani stated, "This was a valuable experience and an opportunity to apply the knowledge I have developed over the years. It also allowed me to broaden my perspective and professional network within the international finswimming community.”

She added that the championships brought together 186 athletes from five Southeast Asian countries—Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia—competing in both senior and junior categories.

Dr. Meiriani Armen’s participation not only enhanced her personal academic profile but also elevated Universitas Bung Hatta’s reputation at the international level, demonstrating the university’s strong human resources in advancing education and sports development in Indonesia.
