Universitas Bung Hatta Industrial Engineering Students Win Bronze Medal at National Essay Competition

Students of the Industrial Engineering Program, Universitas Bung Hatta, Dita Septiyani and Vira Febriani Safitri, won the Bronze Medal at the 7th National Essay Competition (LETIN 7) held by Universitas Janabadra Yogyakarta and Setara Prisma Nusantara on February 14, 2026.

The team submitted a paper titled “From Waste to Innovation Bridge: The Active Role of Young Generation in Utilizing Wood Dust Waste Towards a Sustainable Future”, under the guidance of Noviyarsi, S.T., M.Eng., their faculty advisor. The essay focuses on sustainable waste management, aligning with SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

LETIN 7 hosted 1,211 participants from 418 teams, representing 118 institutions across 28 provinces in Indonesia, making the competition highly competitive at the national level.

The Universitas Bung Hatta fully supported the team, including preparation of presentation materials and posters for the final session, emphasizing both academic excellence and practical innovation. This achievement also reflects the university’s commitment to student development and SDG 4 (Quality Education).

"Winning the Bronze Medal shows that Universitas Bung Hatta students can compete nationally. This accomplishment motivates not only myself but also my peers to keep creating and confidently presenting our ideas,” said Dita Septiyani.
