Universitas Bung Hatta Explores Collaboration with University College MAIWP International Malaysia

in Support of SDG 4 and SDG 17

The Management Study Program of Universitas Bung Hatta initiated a partnership exploration with University College MAIWP International on 20 November 2025 to expand collaboration in education, research, and community service. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The discussion aimed to strengthen international cooperation between the Undergraduate (S1) Management Program and the Master’s (S2) in Management Science. The meeting was conducted in a cordial and productive atmosphere, attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, and representatives from both institutions.

Representing MAIWP, the meeting was opened by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Rosylin binti Yusof and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Management, Education & Humanities Dr. Shafinah binti Abu Hasan, accompanied by department heads and academic staff. Universitas Bung Hatta was represented by the Head of the Management Study Program and supporting lecturers.

Head of the Management Study Program at Universitas Bung Hatta, Lindawati, S.E., M.Si., stated that the initiative reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening global academic networks.

"This collaboration exploration promotes international partnerships as part of our strategy to enhance academic quality and educational relevance in the digital era, while contributing to SDG 4 and SDG 17,” she said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Master’s Program in Management Science, Rika Desiyanti, S.E., M.M., Ph.D., added that the partnership is expected to open broader opportunities for both lecturers and students.

"This meeting marks the first step toward a formal agreement. Future discussions on visiting lecturers, joint research, and student mobility programs will soon be finalized to support higher education internationalization,” she noted.

Through this initiative, Universitas Bung Hatta reaffirmed its commitment to developing sustainable global partnerships to enhance institutional competitiveness and international academic engagement.
