Universitas Bung Hatta Appoints Prof. Dr. Haryani, MTP as New Professor in Disaster and Spatial Planning

Padang — Universitas Bung Hatta has officially appointed Prof. Dr. Haryani, MTP as Professor in the field of Disaster and Spatial Planning, strengthening its academic leadership in sustainable regional development. The decree was handed over by the Head of LLDIKTI Region X, Afdalisma, SH, MH, at the LLDIKTI X Office in Padang on February 6, 2026.

The professorship was granted under Decree Number 1969/M/KPT.KP/2026 issued by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Prof. Haryani was declared eligible for promotion to the highest academic rank based on her expertise and scholarly contributions in disaster studies and spatial planning.

Vice Rector I of Universitas Bung Hatta, Prof. Dr. Pasymi, S.T., M.T, expressed appreciation to LLDIKTI Region X and highlighted the university’s pride in adding another professor to its academic community. He emphasized that the appointment strengthens the institution’s commitment to research excellence and societal impact.

The recognition aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), as disaster and spatial planning play a crucial role in building resilient regions. Through this milestone, Universitas Bung Hatta continues to contribute to sustainable development and evidence-based policy planning.

Prof. Dr. Haryani, MTP becomes the 15th Professor at Universitas Bung Hatta, marking another significant achievement in the university’s academic growth and institutional advancement.
