Universitas Bung Hatta and the Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (MIIT) Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) officially launched the International Leadership Camp 2025, held for one week starting on 26 November 2025.

The program was centered at the Network Computer Engineering Technology Study Program (TRKJ), Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Bung Hatta. It involved all TRKJ students and 20 students from MIIT UniKL.

The program was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Bung Hatta, Prof. Dr. Diana Kartika, and attended by university leaders and delegates from UniKL. This initiative represents the implementation of academic cooperation between the two institutions, aiming to strengthen student leadership, global networking, and cross-cultural understanding. The activities included public lectures, visiting lecturers, outbound training, and international community service.

One of the key agendas was community service in Lubuk Minturun, Padang, an area affected by flash floods (galodo). Through this activity, students gained direct exposure to social resilience and disaster-affected communities. The program aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

Prof. Dr. Diana Kartika expressed her appreciation for the presence of the UniKL delegation and emphasized the importance of global collaboration. She stated that the camp is not merely a cultural exchange but a global learning platform connecting ideas, technology, and humanitarian values. She added that the synergy between Universitas Bung Hatta and UniKL should expand into broader strategic fields.

Puan Aruna Azariah Rajendram, Head of International Partnership UniKL, conveyed her pride in the growing collaboration. She highlighted that the camp provides valuable global exposure for UniKL students to understand societal issues beyond Malaysia. Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining long-term collaboration through student exchange, joint research, and international programs.
