Training on PPL and CAR Supervision for Lecturers, Mentor Teachers, and School Principals
A number of lecturers, mentor teachers, and school principals participated in a special training aimed at improving the quality of supervision for School Field Practice (PPL) and Classroom Action Research (CAR). The event was held in person at ZHM Premier Padang on Sunday, December 29, 2024. It was officially opened by the Vice Rector I of Bung Hatta University, Prof. Dr. Pasymi, S.T., M.T., representing the Rector of Bung Hatta University.
In his remarks, Prof. Pasymi emphasized that this training is part of the effort to support government programs, especially the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) for prospective teachers. He expressed his appreciation to the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Bung Hatta University for successfully fostering synergy between academic processes and partner schools in West Sumatra, particularly in the Padang area.
Dr. Yetty Morelent, Dean of FKIP Bung Hatta University, stated that the PPG program for prospective teachers is currently in progress. First-semester students have started their classroom learning, while in the second semester, they will continue with field practice through PPL.
To ensure alignment of understanding between program managers and partner schools, training like this is essential. According to Dr. Yetty, it aims to maintain the quality of supervision and support the smooth academic process for students.
As the main speaker, Dr. Yetty Morelent discussed the procedures for implementing PPL in schools, while Dra. Pebriyenni,M.Si, presented material related to the planning and implementation of Classroom Action Research. This activity is expected to serve as a strong foundation for improving the quality of education and the professionalism of future teachers.
