The Undergraduate and Master's Management Study Programs of the Faculty of Economics and Business Bung Hatta University visited the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM)

On 4 June 2024, the Undergraduate and Graduate Management Study Programs of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Bung Hatta conducted an academic visit to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). This activity aimed to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions and provide international experience for students and faculty members.

A total of 26 graduate management students participated in a student mobility program designed to broaden their academic perspectives and global experience. Additionally, two faculty members from the Management Study Program, Sefnedi, S.E., M.M., Ph.D., and Reni Yuliviona, S.E., M.M., Ph.D., served as guest lecturers for International Business and Marketing Management courses. Their presence was expected to enhance UTM students' knowledge and understanding of management and marketing.

The visit also included joint research activities between faculty members of the Management Study Program at Universitas Bung Hatta and UTM, focusing on the topic 'The Influence of Social Media Marketing, Tourist Attraction, Visitor Experience, and Destination Image on Revisit Intention of Special Interest Tourists in Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra.' This research is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of knowledge in marketing and tourism.

In addition, an international Community Service (PKM) activity was also part of the visit agenda. A team of faculty members, including Linda Wati, S.E.,M.Si, Sefnedi, S.E., M.M., Ph.D., Reni Yuliviona, S.E., M.M., Ph.D, Zeshasina Rosha, S.E.,M.Si and Elfitra Azliyanti, S.E.,M.Sc along with students, implemented a PKM project titled 'Promoting Food Tourism through Leading Local Products in Padang, Indonesia.' This initiative aimed to develop and promote culinary tourism by highlighting Padang's leading local products.

The Bung Hatta University delegation was warmly welcomed by UTM Dean, Associate Professor Dr. Ahmad Bin Jusoh, Department Head Dr. Halina Binti Mohamed Dahlan, and other UTM lecturers. On this occasion, both parties held in-depth discussions on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) and on opportunities for future collaboration.

This activity is expected to strengthen the relationship between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and the Management Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Bung Hatta. In addition to providing valuable academic experience for students and faculty, the collaboration is anticipated to foster new research and innovations beneficial to both institutions. Such synergy is expected to enhance educational quality, expand international networks, and advance management and tourism studies in Indonesia and Malaysia
