Lecturers from Construction Economic Engineering, Universitas Bung Hatta, Teach at UiTM Perak, Malaysia

The renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Bung Hatta and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Malaysia on October 30, 2023, paved the way for academic collaboration, including a visiting lecturer exchange program to share knowledge and experience.

Based on this cooperation, two lecturers from the Construction Economic Engineering Study Program (Prodi TEK), namely Dr. Wahyudi P. Utama, B.QS., MT (as Head of Prodi TEK) and Fielda Roza ST., MT., were invited as visiting lecturers at UiTM Perak, one of the UiTM branches in Malaysia.

Wahyudi P. Utama gave a lecture on June 10, 2024, in front of approximately 70 undergraduate Quantity Surveying (QS) students and several UiTM lecturers. His material focused on the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM) in Indonesia. He highlighted the problem of the lack of a mutually agreed-upon SMM by construction stakeholders in Indonesia, which can trigger disputes over work quantities or issues during audits by parties like the Supreme Audit Institution (BPK - Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan).

Fielda Roza discussed the topic of Government Construction Project Administration in Indonesia. She explained that there are significant differences between the construction project administration systems in Indonesia and Malaysia, for example, the Mutual Check (MC) process known in Indonesia does not exist in Malaysian project administration.

In addition to giving guest lectures, the presence of the two Prodi TEK lecturers was also in the context of accompanying students in the QS Jamboree 2024 program, which took place for four days, from June 10 to 13, 2024, at the same campus.
