The TRKJ-FTI Study Program at Bung Hatta University Develops an Interactive Website for Padang Janiah Ecotourism, Batu Busuak, Padang

The Computer and Network Engineering Technology (TRKJ) Study Program of Universitas Bung Hatta organized a Community Service Program (PKM) entitled “Development of an Interactive Website and Digital Management Training for the Padang Janiah Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS) to Enhance Tourism in Nagari Batu Busuak, Padang City.” The event took place on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the World Resource Institute (WRI) Indonesia Office.

The Head of the TRKJ Study Program, Zulfadli, S.Kom.,M.Sc, who also served as the project coordinator, along with several students, collaborated with the Padang Janiah Ecotourism Group to develop an interactive website aimed at improving tourism promotion in Nagari Batu Busuak. Through this website, tourists can access comprehensive information about natural attractions, local culture, and various activities available in the area.

In addition to the website development, the PKM team also provided specialized training on website management and digital media optimization. This training is expected to enhance participants’ skills in promoting the tourism potential of Nagari Batu Busuak more professionally and effectively.

“We hope this activity will have a positive impact on Padang Janiah Ecotourism by advancing local tourism and expanding promotional reach through digital platforms. We also expect that the students’ involvement in this project will enrich their practical knowledge and technical skills,” said Zulfadli.

The Head of the Padang Janiah Ecotourism Group expressed gratitude for the initiative. “We are very grateful for this training. Hopefully, in the future, the Padang Janiah Ecotourism in Nagari Batu Busuak will become more well-known, attracting more visitors to enjoy the natural beauty and cultural heritage we have to offer,” he said.

This PKM activity reflects TRKJ Universitas Bung Hatta’s commitment to supporting community development through the application of technology, particularly in the tourism sector, which holds significant potential in West Sumatra.

With the completion of this training, it is expected that the collaboration will continue, allowing Nagari Batu Busuak to become one of Padang City’s leading tourist destinations, recognized both nationally and internationally.
