TEK Students Win 1st Place Best Performing Group Award at IWICME 2025 in Malaysia

A team of Construction Economics and Engineering (TEK) students from Bung Hatta University, grouped as Group 6, achieved 1st Place – Best Performing Group (First Place Award) at the 5th International Workshop on Innovation in Construction Management and Economics (IWICME) 2025, hosted by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) from November 24–29, 2025.

This prestigious international competition and workshop gathered participants from various countries to explore innovation in construction management and sustainable infrastructure economics.

The event contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through global collaboration and innovation-driven solutions in the construction sector.

During the event, Bung Hatta University students collaborated with peers from leading Malaysian universities.

Members of Group 6 included Muhammad Arya Pratama and Hasya Sabila Zahra (Bung Hatta University), Muhammad Ashraf bin Ali and Sivanesh Mayachandran (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia), as well as Luqmanulhakim bin Faisol and Siti Nur Zulaikha binti Mohamad Yussuf (UiTM Seri Iskandar).

The Rector of Bung Hatta University, Prof. Dr. Diana Kartika, expressed her appreciation for the achievement.

Special recognition was given to Muhammad Arya Pratama and Hasya Sabila Zahra for their dedication, teamwork, and cross-cultural collaboration skills. This success further strengthens Bung Hatta University’s international academic network in construction management and infrastructure economics.
