Regional and City Planning Study Program, Bung Hatta University Holds Public Lecture on Tourism Planning with UTM Lecturer
The Regional and City Planning (Perencanaan Wilayah dan Kota - PWK) Study Program, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (Fakultas Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan - FTSP) at Bung Hatta University, successfully organized a public lecture by inviting a guest lecturer from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
The event, held in a hybrid and in-person format on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 (conducted on 18/12/2024, in the FTSP Meeting Room, Campus 1, Bung Hatta University), featured TPr. Dr. Norhazliza Abd. Halim, who serves as the Head of the Tourism Planning Research Group at UTM.
The public lecture, themed "Sustainable Development in Tourism Planning Context," was attended by all PWK lecturers and students. The event was opened by the Dean of FTSP, Dr. Ir. Haryani, MTP., and moderated by the Head of the PWK Study Program, Era Triana, ST, M.Sc, Ph.D.
The Dean of FTSP, Dr. Ir. Haryani, MTP., stated that inviting guest lecturers from Malaysia is part of FTSP's effort to implement international cooperation. The goal is to improve the quality and competence of Bung Hatta University graduates so they possess high competitiveness in the globalization era.
In line with the Dean, the Head of the PWK Study Program, Era Triana, ST,M.Sc, Ph.D, added that the public lecture also aims to boost the confidence and English language proficiency of PWK students during the learning process. She expressed hope that this activity would expand the knowledge of lecturers and students in the field of tourism planning, and encourage PWK to continue developing international collaboration to support the enhancement of graduate quality and study program performance.
