Public Educational Visit of the BEI FEB Bung Hatta University Investment Gallery to SMAN 1 Padang

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Management of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Investment Gallery, Faculty of Economics and Business, Bung Hatta University, successfully held a Capital Market Public Education event at SMA Negeri 1 Padang. This event was held in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of West Sumatra Province, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia, and the IA Smansa 93.

This activity aimed to improve financial literacy and introduce students, the next generation of aspiring young investors, to the concept of capital market investment. Participants were given an understanding of the importance of starting investing early, the OJK's role in maintaining capital market stability and oversight, and how to invest safely and responsibly.

The Advisor of the IDX Investment Gallery, Bung Hatta University, Rika Desiyanti, S.E.,M.Si.,Ph.D., was present as one of the speakers and delivered material on financial literacy, including personal financial management, the difference between saving and investing, and how investing can be a strategic step in achieving future financial goals.

In addition, speakers from the OJK (Financial Services Authority) of West Sumatra Province, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) West Sumatra Representative Office, and Mirae Asset Securities Indonesia provided interactive education on capital market mechanisms, stock transaction procedures, and investment tips for beginners.

As a practical activity, students had the opportunity to simulate stock transactions using the IDX Mobile platform. Through this simulation, participants learned to buy and sell shares, understand price movements, and familiarize themselves with the app's features.

Through this activity, it is hoped that students of SMAN 1 Padang will better understand the importance of financial literacy and gain the knowledge needed to make investment decisions. This educational program also represents a concrete step by IDX FEB Bung Hatta University Investment Gallery to support increased financial literacy among the younger generation and encourage the development of intelligent, competitive investors in the future.
