PTIK Universitas Bung Hatta Shares Ramadan Takjil at Ashabil Rayyan Orphanage
The Program of Informatics and Computer Engineering Education (PTIK) at Universitas Bung Hatta held a social activity to distribute Ramadan takjil at Ashabil Rayyan Orphanage on February 27, 2026. The program aims to cultivate social awareness among students and staff in line with the campus’s impact initiative and supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 and 3.
Dr. Karmila Suryani, S.Kom., M.Kom., Head of PTIK, stated that this is the second time the program has been conducted, following earlier food donations before Ramadan. The initiative continued with takjil distribution and small donations for the children at the orphanage.
The activity was fully supported by PTIK faculty and other donors as a form of gratitude and social care during the holy month. It emphasizes that universities have responsibilities beyond academics and must actively engage in community welfare, aligning with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
Ade Fitri Rahmadani, S.Pd., M.Pd.T., a participating lecturer, added that the program aims to instill values of empathy and social responsibility in students. He noted that even small contributions can bring joy to the children and remind participants to keep sharing.
Through this annual initiative, PTIK Universitas Bung Hatta hopes to strengthen the culture of giving and social engagement among its academic community, fostering values that resonate with SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) while building lasting community impact.
