PTIK Study Program of FKIP Bung Hatta University Sends PMM Students to Unilak
In response to the directive from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) regarding the Independent Merdeka Campus program, the Informatics Engineering Education (PTIK) Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Bung Hatta University (UBH), has strengthened its strategic collaboration with higher education institutions outside the province. One of its implementations is the Independent Merdeka Student Exchange (PMM) program, which aims to broaden academic horizons, enhance professional skills, and build cross-campus networks.
From hundreds of applications submitted, two outstanding students — Shania Dwi Putri and Rahma Dina Pohan — were selected to carry out internships at the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Lancang Kuning University (Unilak), Pekanbaru. This program is not merely a student exchange but a strategic initiative to strengthen academic synergy in curriculum development, research, and Community Service Activities (PKM).
The program will run for one semester, and the university will facilitate a credit transfer of 20 credits (SKS) as part of the academic graduation requirements. The official send-off ceremony for the PMM students was held at the PTIK Study Program Room, FKIP UBH, and attended by:
Dr. Karmila Suryani, M.Kom – Head of the PTIK Study Program, FKIP UBH
Ashabul Khairi, S.T., M.Kom – Field Supervisor (DPL)
Farel Fairuz – Head of the PTIK Student Association (Hima PTIK)
Jihan Suhaida – Student Representative
The event was conducted symbolically through the handover of assignment letters and the university flag, marking the beginning of the internship period, which will last for one semester. During the internship, students will be engaged in various academic activities such as interactive learning, technology project collaboration, mentoring Unilak students, and preparing practical reports.
The Merdeka Student Exchange Program undertaken by Shania Dwi Putri and Rahma Dina Pohan represents a tangible manifestation of Bung Hatta University’s commitment to a higher education transformation that is flexible, innovative, and skill-oriented. Through this collaboration, the university hopes to cultivate a generation of informatics education professionals who are not only academically excellent but also adaptive, collaborative, and ready to contribute in the digital era.
