MIIT UniKL Malaysia and TRKJ Universitas Bung Hatta Conduct Student Leadership Capacity Building

The Computer Network Engineering Technology (TRKJ) Study Program of Universitas Bung Hatta, in collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (MIIT), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), organized a student leadership capacity building program on 28 November 2025.

The activity was part of the International Leadership Camp 2025 series held from 26 November 2025. This initiative contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through international academic collaboration.

The program featured Zulfadli, ST., M.Sc., Head of TRKJ Universitas Bung Hatta, and Mohd. Adzrin Muhthar, Head of Lifestyle Campus Unit MIIT UniKL, as keynote speakers. The sessions combined motivational talks, leadership character development, and cross-cultural collaboration exercises. Participants engaged in interactive and practical learning activities.

Zulfadli emphasized that leadership is a core competency required in the global era. He highlighted adaptive leadership, effective communication, conflict management, and teamwork in diverse environments. “Students must lead with a global perspective, embrace cultural differences, and make timely and accurate decisions in dynamic situations,” he stated.

Through simulation-based exercises, students worked in international teams to solve problems and explore their leadership styles. The approach aimed to strengthen flexibility, creativity, and integrity among participants. These competencies are increasingly demanded in today’s competitive workforce.

Meanwhile, Mohd. Adzrin Muhthar underlined the importance of balanced leadership that promotes collaboration and a healthy academic environment. He noted that effective leadership is measured not only by achieving targets but also by fostering inclusivity and positive team dynamics. The program reinforced Universitas Bung Hatta’s commitment to developing globally minded and socially responsible student leaders.
