Lecturer Master's Program SP2K, Bung Hatta University, Presents GIS Technology at UGisP Sdn. Berhad, Malaysia

On July 17, 2025, it was reported that the Master's Program in Coastal and Marine Resource Management (Sumberdaya Perairan Pesisir dan Kelautan - SP2K) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Bung Hatta University (UBH), had conducted a Visiting Lecturer program in Malaysia from July 9-12. The visit involved collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM)-Malaysia and the Geographic Information System (GIS) company, UGisP Sdn. Berhad, located in Kajang.

During the visit to UGisP Sdn. Berhad, Prof.Dr. Junaidi, M.Si (Head of the Master's SP2K Study Program) presented a paper on Coastal and Marine Resource Economics. Dr. Harfiandri Damanhuri (SP2K Lecturer) and Dr. Zulherman, ST, M.Sc (Quantity Surveying Lecturer, FTSP UBH) presented on the Implementation of GIS Technology in the Fisheries and Marine World.

For comparison, UGisP Sdn. Berhad was represented by Ts.Qs Modh Herizat Bin Wagimin, who presented on the Implementation of GIS in the Context of Pengurusan Perbandaraan (Urban Management).

According to Prof.Dr. Junaidi, M.Si who was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science UBH, Prof.Dr. Yusra, M,Si, this presentation activity was part of the Visiting Lecturer program series to UiTM-Malaysia. He also added that the visit was a form of realization of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that had been agreed upon by both parties. A total of 13 Master's SP2K students participated, two of whom also had the opportunity to present at UiTM-Malaysia.
