Industrial Internship of Informatics and Computer Engineering Education Students at PT Telkomsel

The Curriculum and Learning Development Program in Higher Education under the Independent Merdeka Campus (Kampus Merdeka Mandiri) framework facilitates various experiential learning activities, one of which is the industrial internship program. As part of this initiative, the Informatics and Computer Engineering Education Study Program (PTIK), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Bung Hatta, assigned two selected students to undertake an industrial internship at PT Telkomsel Padang. The program was conducted independently under the independent internship scheme, with direct supervision from the Person in Charge (PIC), Ashabul Khairi, S.T., M.Kom.

Upon arrival, the supervising lecturer and students were warmly welcomed by Iqra Prasetia Rahadi Putra, Manager of the Household Consumer Branch, PT Telkomsel Padang, in the city of Padang. During the orientation session, all internship participants received comprehensive briefings on the company’s work system, safety procedures, and professional environment. The two participating students, Tenes and Mutia Karni, were assigned to develop professional competencies aligned with their respective areas of expertise.

Internship placements were determined based on each student’s skills and potential, ensuring alignment with the academic credit transfer policy of up to 20 credits (SKS) in accordance with the Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program guidelines. Throughout the internship, students engaged in various activities, including direct observation of business operations, technical training, and active participation in support functions within customer service and information technology management.

This report serves as the official documentation of the industrial internship implementation and is expected to function as a reference and evaluation material for improving the quality and effectiveness of future internship and fieldwork programs.
