Japanese Literature Study Program Holds Japanese Language Presentation Competition for West Sumatra and Riau Regions

The Japanese Literature Study Program at Universitas Bung Hatta, in collaboration with The Japan Foundation, held the 3rd Japanese Language Presentation Competition for 2024 for the West Sumatra and Riau Regions at the Balairung Caraka Hall, Campus Roklamator I of Universitas Bung Hatta, on September 26, 2024.

The organizing committee, Eduardus Agusli, M.Si, stated that the competition's theme was "Nyuuzu kara miru shakai," which means "Society Seen from the Latest News." The participant come from several universities in West Sumatra and Riau regions, including Universitas Bung Hatta, Padang State University, Andalas University, and Riau University.

Dr. Zulherman, S.T., M.Sc, Vice Rector III of Universitas Bung Hatta for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni, in his opening remarks, thanked the JF for entrusting the Faculty of Cultural Sciences to host this competition.

Zulherman stated that the competition was not only a forum for students to hone their Japanese language skills, but also to strengthen the friendship between Indonesia and Japan, particularly in the fields of education and culture. "Mastery of Japanese not only broadens cultural horizons but also opens up various job and further study opportunities," Zulherman added.

He hoped that all participants would demonstrate their best and increase their confidence in communicating, particularly in Japanese.
