International Collaboration: UBH Mechanical Engineering Presents Guest Lecturer from UTM Malaysia

Padang, June 23, 2025 – The Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Bung Hatta University, held an international guest lecture by inviting a guest lecturer from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru, Malaysia, on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the SmartClass FTI, Bung Hatta University.

The event featured Prof. Safian Syarif, an expert in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), who delivered a lecture on the topic “Titanium Manufacturing Materials and the Development of Metal Materials in the Industrial World and Their Implementation.”

The guest lecture was enthusiastically attended by students of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, guided by two accompanying lecturers, Ir. Kaidir, M.Eng. and Dr. Burmawi, S.T.,M.Si. The students actively participated in the discussion and Q&A sessions, demonstrating their strong interest in the advancement of engineering materials in global industries.

This activity was considered highly beneficial, as it provided new insights for students regarding the latest trends and technologies in the field of metallic materials—particularly titanium—which plays a vital role across various industrial sectors.

Through this guest lecture, the Mechanical Engineering Study Program of Bung Hatta University hopes to continuously improve the quality of its teaching and to expand opportunities for international collaboration in the future.
