FKIP UBH PLP Monitoring and Evaluation Team Visits Partner Schools

The Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) Team of the School Field Practice Program (PLP) from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Bung Hatta University (UBH), conducted field visits to several partner schools in Padang City on Thursday, October 3, 2024. The visit was part of the evaluation process for the implementation of the PLP program for FKIP UBH students in the 2023/2024 academic year.

The Monev team, consisting of Dr. Lely Refnita, M.Pd., Ali Mardius, M.Pd., and Rio Rinaldi, M.Pd., was warmly welcomed by Principal Ernawati, M.Pd. During the visit, the principal reported that all PLP students had performed well and gained valuable experiences ranging from classroom teaching activities to extracurricular involvement. The students were intensively trained and mentored by supervising teachers appointed by the school, ensuring that their learning experience was not only theoretical but also practical and directly applicable to real classroom settings.

After visiting SD Khaira Ummah, the team continued their visits to other partner schools, including SDN 34 Aia Pacah, where they were welcomed by Efiana Rosita, S.Pd.; SMAN 7 Padang, received by Vice Principal for Curriculum Affairs, Lusi Marlice, S.Pd.; and SMK N 10 Padang, where they were greeted directly by the Principal, Mahyunis, S.Pd.

Each visit demonstrated the schools’ strong commitment to sustaining the PLP program, as well as their readiness in terms of infrastructure and teaching personnel to support student learning.

The PLP activities for FKIP UBH students are scheduled to conclude on October 25, 2024, by which time all students are expected to complete their field assignments and submit their final reports to the university. The evaluation findings indicate that the PLP implementation has been smooth, effective, and aligned with the goals of professional education.

The Monev team recommended that the program continue to be held regularly in the following years, particularly with the network of partner schools that have proven their strong commitment to supporting teacher education and professional development.
