FIB Universitas Bung Hatta Hosts Academic Open House to Inspire Future Students

The Faculty of Humanities (FIB) at Universitas Bung Hatta organized an Academic Open House on February 5, 2026, welcoming senior high school and vocational students from Padang who are interested in literature, language, and culture.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Bung Hatta, Prof. Dr. Diana Kartika. This initiative contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by expanding access to information about higher education opportunities.

In her remarks, Prof. Dr. Diana Kartika reaffirmed the university’s commitment to producing graduates who are competent, competitive, and grounded in strong character. She emphasized that the Faculty of Humanities plays a strategic role in achieving this vision. She also encouraged students to use the opportunity to explore their interests and plan their academic future.

During the Open House, participants were introduced to academic programs, student activities, and the achievements of lecturers and students. Various exhibitions highlighted research outputs, creative works, and community engagement initiatives. The program also aligns with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between the university and secondary schools.

Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Diana Chitra Hasan, M.Hum., M.Ed., Ph.D., explained that the Open House was designed to provide comprehensive insights into study programs and personal development opportunities. Students received information about curriculum structure, international collaborations, and career prospects in education, translation, cultural tourism, media, and creative industries. She noted that the event offered students a first-hand experience of the academic atmosphere at Universitas Bung Hatta.

Through this initiative, Universitas Bung Hatta continues to strengthen its outreach and academic engagement with prospective students. The Open House not only serves as a promotional platform but also as a meaningful educational bridge connecting secondary education to higher learning.
