The Architecture Student Association (HIMA Arsitektur) of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Universitas Bung Hatta, organized an exhibition of student works at the first floor of the Universitas Bung Hatta Library Building, Campus 1 Ulak Karang.
The week-long event, titled “Ruang Waktu Yang Bercerita” (Space and Time That Tells Stories), showcases architectural design projects, fieldwork outputs, and final assignments. This initiative contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting experiential and project-based learning.
According to HIMA Chair M. Ilham, the exhibition is an annual agenda that also features video screenings of field activities, entrepreneurship bazaars, and is open to students and the public. The program encourages creativity, collaboration, and innovation among architecture students.
Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Dr. Rini Mulyani, S.T., M.Sc (Eng.), officially opened the event and expressed appreciation for the initiative. She emphasized that the exhibition helps the public understand the responsibilities of architects in ensuring safety, comfort, and accountability in building design. The program supports SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by promoting awareness of responsible and sustainable architectural practices.
Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni, Dr. Zulherman, S.T., M.Sc., highlighted that the Architecture Festival Week serves as a platform for appreciation and motivation. He noted that the event introduces the field of architecture to a broader audience while inspiring new students to confidently express their ideas. The initiative strengthens academic culture and creative exchange within the university.
Head of the Architecture Study Program, Ir. Nasril S., M.T., added that the festival facilitates students’ talents and interests beyond a single specialization. He invited the wider community to visit the exhibition and engage with the displayed works. Through collaboration and openness, the event also reflects the spirit of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
