Accounting Study Program Industrial Visit to CV. Kopi Danau di Atas: Synergy Between Academics and the Business World

The Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Bung Hatta University, conducted an UMKM Industrial Visit to CV. Kopi Danau di Atas, located at Simpang Tanjung Nan IV, Danau Kembar District, Solok Regency, on June 14, 2025. This activity aimed to foster collaboration between educational institutions and industry players, particularly in the MSME sector.

The activity began with remarks from the Head of the Accounting Study Program, Neva Novianti, S.E., M.Acc., who emphasized the importance of students gaining firsthand insight into the business world so they can connect the theories learned in class with real-world practice. In her remarks, she emphasized that this visit was part of an effort to align the curriculum with industry needs and expand the Accounting Study Program's partnership network.

Furthermore, Drs. Meihendri,M.Si, Ak., CA, as the Head of the Industrial Visit Team, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from CV. Kopi Danau di Atas. He also explained that this activity served not only as a learning tool but also as a crucial opportunity to establish a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) and an Implementation Agreement, concrete manifestations of long-term collaboration between academia and industry.

The visit was welcomed by the owner of CV. Kopi Danau di Atas, H. Rahmi Qadri, S.E.,M.Si, explained his business journey in producing high-quality local coffee, which was marketed domestically and successfully exported internationally. He also introduced his other agribusiness unit, RQ Farm, a strawberry farm managed in an integrated manner as part of the agro-tourism development in the Twin Lakes area.

Students participating in this activity gained firsthand experience observing the coffee production process, managing UMKMs, and international marketing strategies. Through this visit, students are expected to develop applied knowledge that will support their future competency as professional accountants.
