Universitas Bung Hatta Maintains Main Cluster Status in 2026, Supporting SDGs in Education and Innovation

Padang — Universitas Bung Hatta has once again maintained its position in the Main Cluster of the 2026 Higher Education Institutional Clustering announced by the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, as stipulated in Decree No. 436/C3/AL.04/2025 dated 4 November 2025.

The 2026 clustering was based on performance data processed through the SINTA system for the 2022–2024 period and categorized universities into Independent, Main, Intermediate, and Primary clusters.

In 2026, Universitas Bung Hatta was among 222 universities placed in the Main Cluster out of 1,159 institutions assessed nationwide. In the previous year, the university also achieved the same status alongside 216 universities from a total of 1,115 evaluated institutions.

The performance indicators used in the assessment had been verified and validated by each university’s Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), covering authors, affiliations, articles, research outputs, community service, intellectual property rights, and books.

This achievement also reflects Universitas Bung Hatta’s contribution to the global sustainable development agenda, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through strengthened academic excellence, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) via research and intellectual property development, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through extensive national and international collaborations.

Rector of Universitas Bung Hatta, Prof. Dr. Diana Kartika, stated that the university continues to expand research partnerships and enhance community engagement programs.

"In the 2026 university clustering, Universitas Bung Hatta has successfully maintained its position in the Main Cluster. Sustaining this achievement is not easy and requires collective effort from the entire academic community,” she said.
