Rector of Bung Hatta University Welcomes Delegation from Universitas Islam Indonesia
On her first day as Rector of Bung Hatta University, Prof. Dr. Diana Kartika immediately demonstrated her strong commitment to institutional development by welcoming an honorary visit from the delegation of Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII). The meeting, held in a warm and collegial atmosphere, symbolized a shared spirit of collaboration between higher education institutions to enhance the quality of education in Indonesia. The visit was not merely a courtesy call but an important step toward realizing the implementation of cooperation previously agreed upon by the leadership of both universities.
The UII delegation, led by senior academic figures, included Arif Hartono, S.E.,M.Ec., Ph.D.; Dra. Siti Nursyamsiah, S.E., M.M.; Prof. Dr. Muafi, S.E.,M.Si; and Drs. Anas Hidayat, M.B.A., Ph.D. Their presence reflected UII’s commitment to deepening academic and institutional collaboration with Bung Hatta University.
From Bung Hatta University, Rector Prof. Dr. Diana Kartika was accompanied by the full leadership team, including Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Hendra Suherman, S.T., M.T.; Vice Rector II for General Affairs and Finance Prof. Dr. Elfiondri, S.S., M.Hum.; and Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation Dr. Hidayat, S.T., M.T., IPM. Also in attendance were Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Erni Febrina Harahap, S.E.,M.Si, along with the faculty leadership, and Head of the Cooperation Division, Temmy Thamrin, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D.
The dialogue, conducted in a constructive and forward-looking manner, focused on strengthening and implementing the cooperation framework between the two institutions. Discussions centered on three key pillars of higher education development: enhancing human resource quality, promoting collaborative research activities, and developing mutually beneficial academic programs.
One specific agenda discussed was the implementation of an information session for the Doctoral Program in Management Science, highlighting both universities’ shared commitment to advancing high-quality postgraduate programs. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the development of management studies in Indonesia and to produce competent, research-oriented graduates.
Further discussions explored broader areas of collaboration, including student and faculty exchange, joint research, co-authored scientific publications, and curriculum development aligned with industry and societal needs. Both parties agreed to maintain continuous communication to ensure that the collaboration is implemented effectively and sustainably.
In her remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. Diana Kartika emphasized the importance of synergy and inter-university collaboration as key strategies for improving human capital quality. She stated that in today’s globalized era, educational institutions cannot work in isolation—they must actively build networks and partnerships with other universities.
“Synergy among universities is no longer optional—it is a necessity in the context of modern education,” she said. “Through strong collaboration, we can empower one another, share resources, and collectively raise the quality of education, which will ultimately enhance the caliber of graduates we produce.”
Her statement aligns with Bung Hatta University’s vision to continuously grow as a relevant, excellent, and progressive educational institution. The collaboration with Universitas Islam Indonesia—renowned for its strength in economics and management—is expected to bring mutual value and contribute meaningfully to Indonesia’s higher education landscape.
