Master’s Students of SP2K FPIK Bung Hatta University Participate in Visiting Lecturer Program at UiTM Malaysia
A number of students from the Master’s Program in Coastal and Marine Resources (SP2K) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) at Bung Hatta University have presented their papers at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia, as part of the “Visiting Lecturer Program” activity of the Master’s SP2K, which took place from July 9 to 12, 2025. This activity is a realization of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that has been agreed upon by both institutions. The Head of the Master’s SP2K Study Program, Prof. Dr. Junaidi, M.Si, along with Prof. Dr. Yusra, M,Si and lecturer Dr. Harfiandri Damanhuri, S,Pi., M.Sc, accompanied the 13 participating students. Two Master’s SP2K students, namely Ahbid Alhaqqi, presented a paper titled “Implementation of GIS Use in Mangrove Identification in South Pesisir Regency, West Sumatra, Indonesia” and Lidya Dwi Handayani, presented a paper titled “Benefits of Chitosan for Coastal Communities”. The presentations were attended by dozens of students from the Department of Built Environment, UiTM. During the program, students also received lectures from several lecturers from UiTM and Bung Hatta University, including: Mr. Mohd Azham Bin Yahya (Lecturer of Park and Amenity Management, UiTM): Delivering material on “Fisheries and Coastal Development, Can Science Speak for the Sea?”. Dr. Nurul Asyikin Binti Ibrahim (Senior Lecturer of Park and Amenity Management, UiTM): Presented material on “Implementation of GIS Technology in Effective Mangrove Management”. Dr. Harfiandri Damanhuri (SP2K Lecturer, Bung Hatta University): Presented lecture material on “Implementation of GIS Technology in the World of Fisheries and Marine Affairs”. Mr. Firdaus Bin Chek Sulaiman (Lecturer of Park and Amenity Management, UiTM): Delivered material on “General Overview of Marine Protected Areas (MPA) in Malaysia”. |
