“Kemah Ekonomi Berbakti” Camp Strengthens Soft Skills and Social Awareness among FEB Students of Universitas Bung Hatta
Students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Bung Hatta, successfully organized the “Kemah Ekonomi Berbakti” (Economic Service Camp) at the PTPN VI Tea Plantation area in Nagari Aia Batumbuak, Solok Regency, from 10–12 October 2025.
The program served as a platform for character building and student development in line with the university’s Impactful Campus initiative while contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
The activity involved all first-year students of FEB and was designed to strengthen leadership capacity, teamwork, and social responsibility. A series of programs were conducted, including leadership training, outbound team-building sessions, inspirational discussions, and community service activities.
Participants were also encouraged to reflect on values of solidarity and civic responsibility through evening gatherings and camp reflection sessions.
Rector of Universitas Bung Hatta, Prof. Dr. Diana Kartika, together with FEB leaders, student representatives, and members of the village-owned enterprise (BUMNag), took part in a symbolic tree-planting ceremony, highlighting collaboration between academia and local communities in promoting environmental sustainability.
In her remarks, the Rector emphasized that the activity went beyond symbolic gestures.
"This tree-planting initiative is not merely about environmental awareness, but also a tangible expression of collaboration between the academic world and society. Students learn that community service can begin with simple yet meaningful actions,” she stated.
Through this program, FEB Universitas Bung Hatta reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing socially responsible, environmentally conscious, and future-ready graduates who actively contribute to sustainable development at both local and national levels.
