Dr. Fivi Anggraini, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, Delivers Keynote at The 1st Regional Conference IAI West Sumatra 2025

Dr. Fivi Anggraini, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, Accounting Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Bung Hatta, served as a keynote speaker at The 1st Regional Conference IAI West Sumatra 2025. In her keynote paper titled “Accounting Research Innovation to Support the Achievement of the SDGs,” she emphasized the strategic role of accounting research and education in advancing sustainable development.

The conference, organized by the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) West Sumatra, carried the theme “Educating for a Sustainable Future: Repositioning Accounting Education in The SDG Era.” It brought together academics, researchers, practitioners, and students from Universitas Andalas, UPSI Malaysia, Universitas Bung Hatta, Unidha, and UMN Bukittinggi.

As the largest regional accounting conference in West Sumatra, the forum addressed key topics such as the transformation of accounting education in the SDG era, sustainability and ESG integration in the curriculum, digital skills for sustainable accounting, and the role of accountants in sustainable development. The event served as a strategic platform for scientific dialogue and collaborative innovation.

The program contributes directly to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive and future-oriented accounting education, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through multi-institutional collaboration. In addition, discussions on sustainability reporting and ESG frameworks align.

Through her participation, Dr. Fivi Anggraini reaffirmed Universitas Bung Hatta’s commitment to strengthening academic excellence and research innovation in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. The conference highlighted the vital role of accounting professionals in shaping transparent, accountable, and sustainability-driven economic systems
